Protein that Creates Bone
by Stephanie Aldrich, DDS FAGD on 06/13/11Georgia Health Sciences University has discovered a bone-creating protein that can help aument the upper sinus and create bone to help hold in dental implants. Normally bone grafts are added to the sinuses to make them thick enough to hold the implants in those areas. Now by implanting the protein in the sinus, more new bone will form within a month and can help to anchor the implants in those areas.
